I am not a fan of anchor bolts for sill plates for a number of reasons, but I don't think it's a dangerous option. If you are concerned, use Simpson MASA straps.

Further spacing of the anchor bolts is 6' after that.. but since most sill plates are not 40' long, the plate edge needs to be adhered to.. they will try to act independently.
