28/6/2018 · I downvote tapcons. IMO the absolute worst way to anchor in masonry. Especially if you have never used them before. If your install technique isn’t perfect they break or strip. Expanding lead anchors are the easiest to install and provide the best hold and are most forgiving. You do need to be able to drill a 3/4 hole for 3/8 bolts though.
